Steve Edwards the Managing Partner of Spirit Executive
Steve’s career started within the engineering & transportation industry before spending the next 16 years within boutique executive search business’s at partner level helping consultants, contractors and support services organisations to acquire talent at senior engineering and management levels, across the transportation, buildings & infrastructure and energy sectors, within which he has a unique understanding of everything from pre-feasibility, planning, design, commercial, project & programme management, construction and operations and maintenance.

Glen Darby is a Partner with Spirit Executive
Glen’s career spans 25 years starting as an engineering apprenticeship in the automotive industry, this followed roles as a supplier development engineer and then production and quality manager for Land Rover. He then went on to own his own tier 2 quality engineering & sourcing business, supporting large manufacturing organisations across the automotive and aerospace sectors as well as a construction and project management business. Glen brings an array of engineering & construction experience working with the public and private sector.
Glen says “When the idea of Spirit Executive was being developed by Steve Edwards and I we had a model around which we wanted to build the whole ethos of the business. That ethos was one of recruitment company that did not rely on KPI management as its sole way to monitor sales and staff performance.
Our plan was simple yet unusual in the industry, we wanted to trust our staff and develop them so that they bought into our ethos which in return would free them from the usual shackles of recruitment KPI’s and enable them to be innovative in delivering our clients needs rather than the needs of KPI’s.
This has been incredibly successful in allowing our staff and clients to work together as true partners in the search for “best fit” solutions to their resourcing and growth objectives.

Frank Burden has 16 years experience working with people, coaching, mentoring and developing their skills to better themselves. In the process I grew and developed my own skill set. This helped me to become better at finding the right candidate or opportunity for my clients.
I specialise in identifying and attracting passive candidates with niche hard to find skill sets, senior and middle management talent that win, deliver and drive business performance in the transport and infrastructure sector. Craig Gillies is an Associate at Spirit Executive
Craig Gillies is Spirit Executive’s Head of Property & Development working with Steve Edwards in his wider remit across Buildings & Infrastructure to give both clients and individuals a better view of the entire market and the talent within.
Craig says “Since my 16 years as a Professional Rugby Player came to an end in 2013, a whole new world of opportunity has opened up for me.
Over the past 2 years I have been working with Spirit Executive where I specialise in Property and Development. Originally shadowing the Senior Partners to gain a full understanding and knowledge of how Spirit Executive provide both organisations and individuals with the high end service they offer and building up my network within the Property and Development sector.
I am still involved in sports projects and coaching at local schools and clubs as its the the ideal way of staying in touch with the game I love, enabling me to pass on my experience and hopefully inspire the next generation of players coming through”
Chris Thomas is an Associate with Spirit Executive
Christopher Thomas has 13 years working in people development and talent acquisition, where my career centred around coaching and mentoring, I then developed the attraction and recruitment skills to give me a better overview of people development.

Amy Darby in Business Support at Spirit Executive
Amy Darby is Spirit Executive’s Business Support, working alongside Steve Edwards, the Managing Partner and the other members of the team. She is dedicated to getting the best out of herself and team members, by working together to create a friendly, supportive and hard working environment in order to achieve the best standards of work.
Amy says “Spirit Executive has helped me to develop new skills and to bring out already existing skills I never knew I had. Working with Spirit has provided me with the perfect opportunity to gain the business experience I need and experience in my preferred area; Human Resources. It has made me more aware of potential career paths and opened up multiple channels for me to pursue. I hope to continue with my current interest in HR, which has been greatly supported by the business. Adam Williams is the Researcher with Spirit Executive
Adam is an enthusiastic and conscientious individual with experience of working successfully within high-pressure environments. Adam has worked in customer service, mostly within the hospitality and retail industry going back to 2005. Adam has strong interpersonal skills, is a team player and enjoys the benefits that working within a team brings. Adam’s role is mostly to support Stephen in the research element of our assignments and potential prospects.

Adam is heavily involved with the Worcester darts league, playing for the Maple Leaf team as vice-captain and helping in bringing new players into the league.
